Simple

Tuesday July 24th 6:47 p.m.

We totally kicked butt today! We woke up at 6:15 (or later) and had breakfast, then we went to Olympia fields and we were supposed to play Scotland first but the schedule changed and we ended up playing the Diamonds (an American team with which we share a bus) at 11:00. We won 2-0. Then, we ran over to another pitch and played the Netherlands. We won 7-0! They were very nice, they gave each of us a little Holland collectors spoon. They were from the beach area we visited after the games. It was really windy and cold even though the sun was out. The water was very choppy and it looked a little dirty. There were a bunch of shops and little restaurants along the way. We ate lunch at a place on the beach, but we didn't touch the water. Some of the girls went in and said it was freezing cold. We went in a store and got shiny fish necklaces that were 1 euro and I purchased a wallet for 3 euros. We found a party store along the main street and tried on some of the costumes. That was very entertaining. We returned to the hotel around 6 (yay!) and they want us in bed at 9:30 and lights out by 10:00 because of last night's outburst. The pool is finally open, it was closed the first few days, so we might go in.


This wall was across the street from the party store. I don't know if that is modern art or just an attempt at fixing a very large hole.

We watched The Notebook tonight in the conference room where we meet before we leave in the morning. I think one of the girls rented it from the souvenir shop in the lobby because it ad Dutch subtitles throughout that we could not remove. It was a really good movie and depressing. We had some people join us during it because someone would open the door, thinking there was no one in the room and they would end up watching the rest of the movie.

The weather while we were playing today felt like a warm winter day. It was sooo pretty and beautiful. Everything was perfect.
