Sunday July 22nd 11:07 p.m.

The days seem to be getting longer. We had clinic first (it was sprinkling) with a Dutch coach named Jamin(not sure how to pronounce or spell). He was funny and very nice. One of my roommate's bags came today but some of her clothes inside were covered in shampoo because the bottle leaked.

We went to Amsterdam after clinic and wandered around. We went to Dam Square where the royal palace is; not occupied. There were some people dressed up just sitting there, a woman in a fancy victorian-like dress, a guy in a gorilla suit and a man in a green suit wearing a mask. They charged a Euro if you wanted a picture with them. Then we wandered down some narrow streets and went into a few shops. We saw a giant parking structure for bikes, that was weird. No car parking lots here! I didn't like the city that much though, because there were coffeeshops EVERYWHERE (you don't go to coffeeshops by the way). We got some fries with ketchup, that tasted like tomatoes, (weird!) and a french salami sandwich. On our way to get the french fries we past some people on a street corner singing 'Lord I Lift Your Name on High' in Dutch. That was pretty cool. It was also pouring rain in Amsterdam.

The weather is so unpredictable. It was raining, then sprinkling, raining, clear and sunny, then rain again! I am the only person on my team who brought an umbrella. Thank you Mom!

Afterward, we went to a korfball clinic. Korfball is a relatively new popular sport and it is a no contact sport that promotes gender equality. It was interesting at first but once we got to play it was fun. You have four 8 people on a team, 4 defense, 4 offense, and they each stay on one half of the court until the ball comes to them. You throw the ball to your teammates, no dribbling and no moving once you get the ball. Its almost like ultimate frisbee.

We got back to the hotel at around 10:45 pm ( it stays light until close to 11) and crashed.
