Saturday July 21st 10:59 p.m.
Today was much better than yesterday. My roommate came this morning
at 6:10 and crached on the bed, she didn't have any luggage or her soccer gear because it was lost or went to the wrong hotel. She stayed at the hotel all day.
We had clinic in the morning, which is practice, for 3 hours. We changed and hopped on the bus to go eat lunch.
We had a very good lunch at a town on the way to the bike tour. It had a gas station which I didn't see too many of in London or Paris.
We went for a bike ride in the afternoon and we had to wear hairnet
s under our helmets that did not fit.
No one in Holland wears a helmet so we were singled out as the crazy tourists when we rode by locals. We toured through the beautiful green countryside going at a very leisurely pace. The sky was bright blue, the clouds were white and puffy and there was a light, comfortable breeze.
Once we got to our destination, Edam, sound familiar?, we threw away our hairnets, got on our buses and went to the local cheese factory. They had some yummy samples available and I bought a hot and spicy cheese for dad. Across a little dirt parking lot was the wooden shoe factory. We watched the making of a shoe by a Dutch guy who spoke English very well and was wearing a pair of noisy wooden blocks. I tried on a few until I found my size, which happens to be 40, and was
very tempted to buy a pair. Instead, I got a keychain size one and a pair of small white decorative shoes.
We got back on the bus and our Expersport guide lady named Saline took us to a pancake re
staurant for dinner. The syrup was very thick but good and the pancakes looked more like crepes but still tasted very good.
We got back to the hotel and went straight to bed.
